In her former position at San Leandro Unified and her current position as Director of Expanded Learning Programs at the San Leandro Boys and Girls Club, Consuelo is passionately dedicated to removing barriers for youth in critical situations including housing insecurity, foster youth, and those in extreme need.

Consuelo is a proud member of the National Association for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth since 2015. In November of 2021, she received an ‘Expanded Learning Program Spotlight on Quality Award’, recognizing her exceptional leadership and efforts to maximize program quality.
