Project Based Learning

SLED is seeking partners to connect with students in the classroom. We are looking for people in the community with skills and knowledge in various areas that they can share with students. Project Based Learning Community Partners might:
  • speak on their areas of expertise to students as they begin projects
  • evaluate student work and presentations
  • help out as the students build, research or experiment
If you are interested in becoming a Project Based Learning Community Partner please fill out our PBL Community Partner Form
We also have PBL mini-grants available to SLUSD teachers. Click here for the Project Based Learning Teacher Mini-Grant Application.
Beautification Day

Beautification Day

This is an opportunity for families to come out on a Saturday and help to make our schools shine by lending a hand on miscellaneous projects. There are all sorts of projects to get our schools clean and organized and this is the day that parents and community members can pitch in together to help out. Whether it's cleaning, painting, planting, sorting or organizing, your school could use a hand.

For the 2017 Beautification Day SLED promoted the event throughout the community and provided banners and flyer/poster images for the schools to help promote their activities. We also provided beverages and pizza for volunteers at all primary and secondary schools in the district.
