Buck a Month Club
For just a dollar a month, you can help support local education. Funds can be drawn from your bank account or credit card on a regular monthly schedule. If every family in our district donated one dollar each month per student, we could raise more than $106,000 each year for our schools! Learn more and register via PayPal or download our donation form and send your payments through the mail.
Eat Out for Education
SLED's Eat Out for Education campaign encourages individuals and families to designate the first Wednesday of every month as a night to dine together at a San Leandro restaurant in order to benefit public schools within the San Leandro Unified School District.
The concept is simple: participating restaurants donate 10 percent of sales from the first Wednesday of the month to SLED for all parties who present an Eat Out coupon. In return, the restaurant is advertised in our communications and receives a SLED window decal identifying it as a strong supporter of public education.
It is easy to help our schools!
1. Check our list of Participating Restaurants.
2. Download your Eat Out coupons. Print and take them to a participating restaurant the first Wednesday of each month!
Energize for the Prize
Are you a San Leandro homeowner? You have the opportunity to save money on your energy bills by making simple retrofits to your home through Energy Upgrade California. It's a statewide program sponsored by the California Energy Commission in collaboration with local governments, agencies and utilities companies including PG&E to help residents reduce their energy consumption by making their homes more insulated and energy efficient.
The program offers two packages of upgrades that homeowners can make through a participating licensed contractor, earning a rebate up to $4,000 and energy savings of up to 40 percent. The city of San Leandro offers its own rebates for participating homeowners, too, through June 2012.
Each time a San Leandro resident makes energy-saving retrofits to their home, $100 can be donated to SLED through Energy Upgrade's Energize for the Prize program. And, if enough residents participate, this spring SLED can earn up to an additional $5,000.
If do you participate in the program, be sure to fill out the School Reward Form and mark San Leandro Education Foundation as your donation choice.
Take a Seat Campaign
In an effort to support the theater housed in the Arts Education Center at San Leandro High School, SLED subsidiary Friends of the Theater seeks individual seat endowments. For a tax-deductible donation of $250, $500 or $750, an inscription of your choosing will be engraved on a nameplate attached permanently to the armrest of a theater seat.
